fill in the blanks

The collaborative work "Fill in the Blanks" by Anna Baranowski and Vlad Brateanu invites the viewer to an intimate, hypnotic induction into the Albanian Riviera. Through the use of hypnotic methods of relaxation - the sound of the sea and the gentle human voice, images of the sea and the notions of rest and relaxation that vacations evoke - the artists' voices bring the local stories and realities of global warming, massive migration and economic turmoil Challenges caused by global politics and mass tourism in this area into the viewer's consciousness.

The collaboration was created in 2020 during theArtist Residency "OFF SEASON"in Radhima, Albania. The work was premiered at Manifesta 14 - the European Biennial for Contemporary Art 2022.
